Getting Started
To begin testing using the ECMPS Client Tool Preview version 4 (CTP4), you will need to do the following:
1. Have registered to test. Registration was closed on January 2, 2009.
2. Verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
For Windows XP (32-bit version only)
- Windows XP Service Pack 2;
- Pentium III, 1 GHz processor;
- 2 GB memory;
- Video display with 1024 x 768 or higher resolution with at least 256 colors;
- 3 GB hard disk space for application software and data
- Microsoft .Net 3.5 Framework
- Administrative rights on the computer on which the software will be installed
- Adobe Acrobat Reader (for viewing any reports saved in PDF and online documentation)
- Windows Experience Index Score
- 4 RAM (random access memory);
- 4 CPU (central processing unit);
- 4 Hard disk;
- 3 General graphics performed on the desktop;
- 3 3D graphics capability.
- 2 GB memory;

- 3 GB hard disk space for application software and data.

3. You will receive an email indicating that your registration is complete. After you have received the email, contact PQA by calling (434) 817-6096 to receive your CTP user name and password. Please do not call until you have received your email confirming that you registration is complete. For security purposes, logins and passwords cannot be emailed.
4. Determine if you will install a stand alone CTP4 or if you will be connecting to a shared network database. If you are installing a stand-alone CTP4, proceed with the following steps. If you are connecting to a shared network database, follow the steps provided here.
5. If you have an older test version of the ECMPS Client Tool installed (e.g., Alpha, Beta, or Gamma versions), remove that software prior to installing the production version following the uninstall instructions. You cannot upgrade older test versions of the ECMPS Client Tool. If you have questions or problems during installation, send an email to .
6. Before installing the CTP4, please close all applications. If at any time during the installation you receive a warning or error message, please contact PQA either via email at or by calling (434) 817-6096.
7. Download the CTP4 from the Downloads page. In order to install this software on your computer, you will need to have rights to install software on your computer. Contact your IT staff, if you have any questions about your ability to install software on your computer.
